What's Been Happening?
>> HRH The Princess Royal visited the village of Warehorne in Kent on 11th December 2019 to officially open English Rural’s new affordable housing development. Recently completed, the small development of four new homes at ‘Goldfield’ provides two houses and two flats that benefit local people. All homes have been made available at rents that are affordable to local people living, working in or with close family connections to the village.
The homes are the result of a partnership with the local community, involving Warehorne Parish Council, Action with Communities in Rural Kent, Ashford Borough Council and English Rural. This is the second scheme to be built in the village by English Rural, the first being four bungalows completed 1995.
The Princess Royal met local residents and viewed two of the affordable homes, before officially opening the development by unveiling a commemorative plaque.

And a 25th Anniversary in Warehorne too…
>> Back in 1995, 4 semi-detached bungalows were built by English Rural. These two bedroom homes were built in association with the local parish council and made available for rent to local people. 25 years on, and 3 of the 4 properties have the original residents still living in them, of which I am lucky enough to be one.
English Rural resident, Mel Olymbios
Without English Rural, myself and my husband would not have been able to stay living locally. I grew up in the neighbouring village, and am the 6th generation of my family to live in Warehorne. I feel privileged to be able to live in our home, knowing that we have security and are close to our work and families. Schemes such as these allow families to live locally and support the rural economies. Read more news here.

International Women's Day 2020...
>> On International Women’s Day on Sunday 8th March 2020, English Rural celebrated the pivotal roles played by all the fabulous women in the organisation.
We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create a gender-equal world.
